Letter from John Owen , March 2021

It is with very mixed feelings I write to let you know I have made the decision to retire this year.

You may be aware I started this firm in 1995, and with the help and support of my very loyal clients, the business has grown into the success it is today.  Many of my clients have become friends, which has been an added bonus.

Before making the decision to sell the business, I researched a number of both large and small Independent Financial Adviser firms. My prime objective was to source a local firm which held similar philosophies to me.  

I am delighted to announce I shall be handing over the business to Andrew Cook and John Cooper, Managing Directors of Heritage Investments. After many detailed discussions, I concluded that Heritage Investments is a natural fit, both in terms of their business culture and from a practical point of view.

Both LAfinancial and Heritage Investments are based in Dorset and share a similar commitment to building a long-term relationship with clients.  Most importantly, I am confident I shall be able to work with both Andrew and John and strongly believe they have the expertise to advise my clients going forward.   

I will now hand over to Andrew and John to introduce themselves, and who will provide an overview of Heritage Investments and explain the next stage of the process.

We are delighted that John has entrusted us to continue providing advice to his clients. Heritage Investments is a Chartered Independent Financial Adviser firm, which means we have satisfied rigorous criteria through gaining professional qualifications and establishing good ethical practices. We are very proud of achieving Chartered status and continually focus on delivering a professional personal service in a way that is easy to understand.

Heritage Investments began in the latter part of 2009 and has steadily grown over the last twelve years and many of our clients have been with Heritage Investments from the beginning. We employ an additional five Independent Financial Advisers along with an Administration Manager and supporting team of Paraplanners and Administrators.  

Our expertise is Inheritance Tax Planning, Trusts and Pensions along with Investments and Later Life Planning. We are directly authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and employ our own Compliance Manager, which enables us to process business efficiently and in a timely manner.
